Hi there, Im Carlie!
I am a Sophomore at UNCW, and I have not exactly decided my future, but as of right now I am on a Pre-med track for dentistry. Wilmington has become my second home, since my real home is in Raleigh, North Carolina. I knew Wilmington was the place for me because nothing makes me happier than sunshine and colorful beach bikes. I love to be active whether it's exercising, attending events, or just hanging out with friends! I am a coffee snob and a particular pinterest baker. I dream of opening my own coffee shop and serving my favorite lattes and pastries. I am waiting for the day I have enough time and money to travel. A few of my favorite are elephants, sunsets, breakfast food, my family, and rainy days. I have worked as a camp counselor, lifeguard, swim coach and have also had the enjoyment of working in a few yogurt shops. However, I am most excited for my new position as a Seahawk Link! Freshman year is an exciting and overwhelming time, so as a link I want to be here to help your transition and be a friend! A few things i highly recommend... 1. My favorite study spot in Fisher University Union! I sit in the area downstairs beside the Starbucks, or on the second level at a table in the window pass that connects Fisher Student Union and Fisher University Union. 2. Get involved on campus as quick as you can! Obviously get settled into your new schedule, but try to incorporate on campus involvement ASAP! Also, make friends with your roommates and the people living around you. You are all experiencing college life for the first time and can create the best memories and friendships by experiencing this year together. Make sure you go and see your professors during their office hours. Simply visiting shows you care about their course; and if they are able to put a name to a face, they may offer extra help that is not given to every student. 3. Go to the legendary beach blast! a day spent on the beach, with all of your fellow classmates of all ages, meeting, laughing, and celebrating your year at UNCW to come...could it be a better tradition? |
